Derby Under 10’s returned to the Sandal Festival having lost the final last year to Otley – to find that their first match was against Otley!  Determined defence against a much bigger side and strong running led to Derby scoring to draw 1-1.  Derby won their next two games against Rotherham Titans and West Park Leeds setting up a last match which they needed to win by at least three tries.  By half time they had secured this against Morpeth, going on to win by five tries to nil with some excellent running, rucking and support play.  Derby entered the final having scored 17 tries and conceded only one. 

The final saw Derby meeting Sandal.  Putting Sandal under great pressure through hard tackling and giving Sandal no time, Derby forced three turnovers in the first half scoring each time.  The rest of the match was hard fought with Derby ending as 4-1 winners.
